SUMMARY

The round was co-led by Together Fund and Z47, with participation from angel investors such as Adam Frankl, Oliver Jay, Jagadeesh Kunda, among others

Going forward, Scalekit plans to roll out background agent support, deepen tool-calling and introduce tools for agent auditability and observability

Founded in 2023, the startup’s offerings manage revocable access to ensure AI agents can operate safely, passwordless login, two-factor authentication, handle token lifecycle, others

Former Freshworks executive Satya Devarakonda’s AI-powered SaaS startup Scalekit has raised $5.5 Mn (INR 48.4 Cr) as part of its seed round co-led by Together Fund and Z47.

The round also saw participation from angel investors such as Adam Frankl, Oliver Jay, Jagadeesh Kunda, among others.

In a statement, the startup said that it will use the fresh proceeds to deepen its agent-centric identity and shore up its tech capabilities.

Founded in 2023 by Devarakonda and Ravi Madabhushi, Scalekit has built an authentication stack for AI apps to make agentic workflows secure. The startup offers infrastructure to help developers securely connect agents, applications and tools.

Simply put, its offerings manage revocable access to ensure AI agents can operate safely, password-less login, two-factor authentication, enforce which agents can connect and what tools they can access, among others.

The startup, which currently operates a team of 25 employees, claims that its products are used by companies such as Fello, Sifthub, Napkin, Unstract, Hubbl and Aerchain as authentication services for AI-native apps and to add agentic features.

Going forward, the company is eyeing rolling out background agent support, granular authentication logs and prebuilt connectors for more than 1,000 external apps.

It also plans to introduce tools for agent auditability and observability, scale up integrations with third-party platforms such as Slack, Gmail, Notion and Salesforce. The company also said that it is looking to partner with AI platforms and agent frameworks to offer native authentication plugins.

Scalekit’s funding comes at a time when the broader AI space continues to be the flavour of the season. Instead of one-size-fits-all AI tools, investors are increasingly backing specialised platforms built for specific industries.

Just a day ago, AI SaaS startup Pascal AI Labs raised $3.1 Mn in its seed round led by Kalaari Capital. Last month, enterprise AI startup Refold AI also bagged $6.5 Mn in its seed round co-led by US based Eniac Ventures and Tidal Ventures.

In August, ecommerce solution provider Graas bagged $9 Mn in its Series B round led by Tin Men Capital while AI-powered HR tech startup TurboHire also secured $6 Mn in its Series A round led by IvyCap Ventures in the same month.

At the heart of all is the growing Indian GenAI ecosystem, which is home to more than 140 startups that have raised more than $1.5 Bn in funding since 2020. This surge is projected to push the homegrown GenAI ecosystem beyond the $17 Bn mark by 2030.
