[Update] Ola Electric Kicks Off Roadster X Bike Deliveries

Bhavish Aggarwal-led Ola Electric today kicked off deliveries of its Roadster X model motorcycle series.

To mark the occasion, the company also announced “offers worth INR 10,000 for the first 5,000 customers who will get extended warranty, MoveOS+ and essential care free as part of its ‘Ride the Future’ campaign.” 

The company also revealed that its Roadster X Series comes with a mid-drive motor that boosts performance and safety.

Ola Electric also claimed in its exchange filing that this model e-bikes would feature an industry-first innovation of flat cables in the motorcycles, which would primarily improve packaging efficiency, reduce weight, and enhance thermal performance, improving overall durability and reliability.

Shares of Ola Electric ended the day 2.7% higher at INR 52.91 apiece on the BSE.

Ola Electric’s founder Bhavish Aggarwal has said that the company will start deliveries of electric bike Roadster X towards the end of this week.

“Roadster X deliveries starting this Friday! Excited to see customers experience our bike,” Aggarwal wrote in an X post.

In August last year, he announced the company’s entry into the electric motorcycle segment with The Roadster Series, comprising Roadster X, Roadster and Roadster Pro.

The Roadster X series starts at INR 74,999 for the Roadster X, INR 1,04,999 for the Roadster X+ 4.5kWh, and INR 1,54,999 for the Roadster X+ 9.1kWh (with 4680 Bharat Cell) that offers a range of 501 km/charge.

As of 11:45 AM, shares of Ola Electric were up 0.45% at INR 51.35 apiece on the BSE today, compared to its last close of INR 51.12 per share yesterday.

Last month, the company launched its first Roadster X motorcycle from its Futurefactory in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri, the model which the company had accounted in its February sales data.

Back then, Ola Electric said that the deliveries would begin by the end of the month.

However, later the company informed the bourses that the deliveries of Roadster X will now commence in May.

Meanwhile, the company has been mired in a slew of controversies for reportedly operating more than 90% of its outlets without necessary trade certificates and discrepancies in its February 2025 sales figures.

While the company, in February-end, claimed that it sold over 25,000 electric two-wheelers during the month, the government’s VAHAN portal showed only about 8,600 registrations for the same period. Ola Electric had cited “temporary” backlog in registrations due to the termination of contracts with registration agencies as the reason for the mismatch.

On the financial front, the Aggarwal-led startup’s consolidated net loss widened 50% to INR 564 Cr in Q3 FY25 from INR 376 Cr in the year-ago quarter. Further, Its operating revenue declined 19% to INR 1,045 Cr during the quarter under review from INR 1,296 Cr in Q3 FY24.
