Omnichannel beauty retailer Nykaa has allotted 90,500 equity shares under its employee stock option plan (ESOP).

The equity shares are allotted pursuant to the exercise of vested stock options by the employees under the company’s ESOP Plan, Nykaa said in an exchange filing.

“The equity shares so allotted, shall rank pari-passu with the existing equity shares of the Company in all respects,” the filing said.

With Nykaa’s shares opening the trading session today (February 25) at INR 164.45 apiece on the BSE, the newly allotted shares worth translated to INR 1.49 Cr.

The company’s shares are trading marginally up at the current market price 12:52 PM on the BSE.

Nykaa’s consolidated net profit surged 51% to INR 26.4 Cr in the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (Q3 FY25) from INR 17.5 Cr in the year-ago period on the back of strong growth across beauty and fashion verticals.

The company announced its financials for the quarter ended in December, earlier this month. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, net profit rose 104% from INR 12.97 Cr.

After its strong performance in the quarter under review, brokerage firm JM Financial retained its ‘BUY’ call on the stock with a target price (TP) of INR 240, citing the company’s ability to deliver robust growth in a tepid demand environment.

The company’s operating revenue also jumped 26.74% to INR 2,267.2 Cr in the September-December quarter from INR 1,788.8 Cr in the corresponding period last year. Sequentially, it increased by 20.93% from INR 1,874.7 Cr.

In an investor presentation, the Falguni Nayar-led company said it clocked a consolidated gross merchandise value (GMV) of INR 4,527.9 Cr in Q3 FY25, a jump of 25% from INR 3,617.9 Cr in the year-ago period.

While revenue from Nykaa’s beauty and personal care (BPC) business jumped 27% YoY to INR 2,060.01 Cr in Q3 FY25, Nykaa Fashion continued to remain a loss-making entity in the quarter.

However, Nykaa Fashion managed to trim its loss by 12.3% YoY to INR 25.41 Cr.
