Now, Zomato’s New Feature Allows Its Users To Make Healthier Choices

SUMMARY

With this new feature, users can nudge towards healthier alternatives while ordering, ensuring they don't regret their choices later

Besides, last month the company also hiked its platform fee to INR 5 per order from INR 4 earlier

Earlier in May, Zomato also reported its fourth consecutive profitable quarter

Days after Zomato expanded its priority delivery services to Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune, the foodtech giant has now rolled out a new feature that will help its users in making healthier choices.

With this new feature, users can nudge towards healthier alternatives while ordering, ensuring that they don’t regret their choices later.

The announcement was made by founder and CEO of Zomato Deepinder Goyal on X.

The post read, “We just launched a new feature on Zomato – gently helping our customers to make healthier choices. To begin with, we have started suggesting roti as an alternative to a naan.”

“We are seeing 7% attach rate for these suggestions, and we have received overwhelmingly positive feedback for this feature. We are soon planning to scale this to other dishes and categories as well. For example, if you are craving a dessert, we might show you lower calorie desserts as options when you add the former to your cart,” it added.

Zomato is also gearing up to expand this feature to other dishes and categories. For instance, if a user craves dessert, they might be presented with lower-calorie options when adding it to their cart.

Besides, last month the company also hiked its platform fee to INR 5 per order from INR 4 earlier.

Earlier in May, Zomato also reported its fourth consecutive profitable quarter. The company’s consolidated profit after tax zoomed 26.8% to INR 175 Cr in the quarter ended March 31 of the financial year 2023-24 (FY24) from INR 138 Cr in the preceding quarter.

Operating revenue jumped over 8% to INR 3,562 Cr during the quarter from INR 3,288 Cr in Q3 FY24.

However, Zomato saw a decline in the GOV of its food delivery business on a QoQ basis. Its GOV fell to INR 8,439 Cr during the quarter under review from INR 8,486 Cr in the previous quarter. But, GOV rose 28% on a YoY basis.
