We bring to you the latest edition of Movers and Shakers of this week.

This week saw interesting movers and shakers with collaborations between leading Indian startups showcasing the power of working together.

In one such attempt, student housing startup Oxfordcaps and female-focused startup SHEROES announced a partnership. As part of this initiative under ‘Managed Remote Solutions’ (MARS) by SHEROES, Oxfordcaps will get a service where certified women professionals are deployed on various customer support processes to help drive the company’s customer facing business.

Also, this week, Los Angeles-based key Netflix executive overseeing original content in India, Simran Sethi is reportedly leaving the company after nearly a two-year stint.

The report said that Sethi is leaving the company rather than moving to India. There is no word on Sethi’s replacement as yet, although the executive will likely be based out of Mumbai and report to Bela Bajaria, who was recently appointed as the head of International non-English TV originals.

Bajaria took over the role after the exit of former international originals vice-president Erik Barmack who is starting his own production firm.

Crocs Appoints Sumit Dhingra As GM, India

Colorado-based casual footwear brand Crocs Inc has appointed Sumit Dhingra as the new General Manager for India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.

With over 15 years of experience across apparel and fashion retail, Dhingra has worked with  textiles major Arvind Fashions as CEO for Arrow, Aeropostale and Izod. Dhingra repositioned Arrow and launched Aeropostale successfully.

In his new role, Dhingra will be responsible for growth of Crocs in the region. Currently, Crocs operates in the region with over 1,500 point of sales across 150 cities via exclusive brand stores and multi brand outlets.

Hopscotch Strengthens Indian Leadership Team

Mumbai-headquartered kids apparel company Hopscotch has appointed two senior members to their management team— Somu Vadali as chief product officer and Vivek Pawar, senior director of programs and growth.

Vadali comes with over 20 years of industry experience and had spent most of his time in Silicon Valley building digital and data products across consumer, retail, and fintech industries. He has worked with Yodlee, Acxiom, Imprivata, and Nuance before relocating to Future Group in India.  His experience spans leading global and complex initiatives with domain expertise including mobile, gamification, behavioural change, machine learning, biometric data, speech recognition, predictive analytics and SaaS.

In his new role, Vadali will lead data and product functions team.

At the same time, Pawar has spent a few decades in the technology domain building products in the fashion ecommerce space. He founded ‘StyleTag’ where he successfully raised several rounds of capital with a vision to disrupt the fashion space. Prior to this, he worked closely and advised leading multinational organizations including Nordstrom and The GAP, building O2O points of sale and merchandising platforms for in the United States.

In his new role, he will be the senior director of programs and growth. The appointments come in as Hopscotch announced its new tech office in Bengaluru. With these appointments and tech centre, the company looks to accelerate investments in data, product, and engineering.

Shamik Sharma Joins As Board Director, Shadowfax

Delhi-based logistics startup Shadowfax appointed Shamik Sharma as an Independent Board Director.

Sharma comes with  many years of solid experience building technology-driven business in the Silicon Valley as well as in India. He was a successful tech entrepreneur in the Bay area, and also held senior roles at HP, Yahoo, Myntra, RockYou&Lytro.

In his new role, Sharma will be advising Shadowfax as an independent Board director for its extensive logistics business.
