Lifestyle online retailer Jabong appointed Ranjan Kant as its chief marketplace officer and Kalyan Kumar as the head of merchandise to steer company’s growth. Ranjan was earlier working with Snapdeal as head of strategy and Kalyan was the chief operating officer of Landmark’s Splash Fashion unit.

akshay pulseAkshay Kothari To Head LinkedIn India

LinkedIn corp appointed former Pulse CEO Akshay Kothari as country manager for India. He will report to Olivier Legrand, LinkedIn’s managing director for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Kothari joined LinkedIn in 2013 after the professional networking site acquired news reader app Pulse. Following the acquisition, Kothari served as principal product manager at LinkedIn.

Freecharge Co-Founder Kunal Shah Appointed As IAMAI Chairman

Industry body Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) has appointed digital payments platform FreeCharge’s co-founder Kunal Shah as its new chairman.Kunal has replaced Nishant Rao, the ex-managing director of LinkedIn, who recently moved to Freshdesk as the global Chief Operating Officer. Besides, IAMAI also named Vishwas Patel, CEO of CCAvenue as the new treasurer. Kunal co-founded FreeCharge in August 2010 with an aim to build a business that turned recharges in to rewarding experiences for its consumers. In April 2015, FreeCharge was acquired by Snapdeal.

Abhishek Nag Joins Uber India

Abhishek Nag, Facebook India’s growth manager has quit the company to join online cab aggregator Uber as head of partnerships in India. He will be responsible for managing Uber India’s partnerships and look after business development. Before joining Uber, Nag was responsible for growth at Internet.org (now known as Free Basics), Facebook’s net neutrality violating platform, where he built relationships with companies who could be brought on board as strategic partners for Facebook in India. Prior to that, Nag worked with Facebook on its Pages product where he eliminated malicious pages and worked on pages distribution for 6 months.

taruTinder Appoints Taru Kapoor As India Head

Tinder appointed Taru Kapoor as India Head. She will be based in Delhi and will lead India operations for the company. Taru will  focus on establishing the Tinder brand in India, steering its user growth and increasing user engagement by focusing on local user needs. Taru is an MBA graduate from Harvard, and was an active member of startups and VC community in Harvard Business School. She has extensive experience in business development, product and growth strategy and financial modelling and planning. She has previously worked with The Boston Consulting Group and Sequoia Capital India. She is an IIT Delhi alum.

Varun KhullarPaytm Ropes In Varun Khullar

Paytm appointed former ITC executive Varun Khullar for its Payments Bank business. He will lead the partnerships division and will be responsible for building relationships with potential partners such as insurance companies, banks and non-banking financial institutions. Varun is an alumnus of IIT Madras and Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Prior to joining Paytm, he worked with medical devices firm Boston Scientific Corporation for about three years. He has also worked with consulting firm McKinsey & Co and tobacco-to-hotels conglomerate ITC.
