AI startup Mem0 has raised $24 Mn (INR 211.7 Cr) in a combined seed and Series A funding round led by Basis Set Ventures. Other investors including Peak XV Partners, Kindred Ventures, GitHub Fund, Y Combinator, and several angel investors also participated in the round.

Founded in 2023 by ex-Khatabook executive Taranjeet Singh and ex-Tesla senior autopilot engineer Deshraj Yadav, Mem0 offers a memory infrastructure layer for AI agents, enabling LLMs to deliver personalised user interactions.

“Every agentic application needs memory, just as every application needs a database. We’re using this funding to become the default memory layer for AI agents and LLMs — making LLM memory as accessible and reliable as databases or authentication. The developers who integrate rich user context from day one will build the next generation of breakthrough applications,” said Singh.

Mem0’s core innovation lies in its smart memory layer that enables LLMs to retain and recall user interactions across apps and platforms. This persistent memory ensures every AI interaction feels continuous, contextual, and deeply personalised.

Through developer APIs, Mem0 allows companies to embed this memory capability into their own products — helping AI applications learn, adapt, and respond intelligently to user preferences over time.

The company claims its API usage surged to 186 Mn calls in Q3 2025, up from 3.5 Mn in Q1 2025. Meanwhile, AWS has named Mem0 the exclusive memory provider for its new Agent SDK, enabling developers to integrate memory with minimal code across SaaS and enterprise applications.

The funding comes amid an upswing in AI startup investment in India. Just hours earlier, agentic AI startup Lyzr announced an $8 Mn fundraise. India’s GenAI ecosystem, projected to become a $17 Bn opportunity by 2030, has already attracted over $1.6 Bn in funding between 2022 and Q3 2025.

According to an Inc42 survey, 41% of investors have allocated up to 40% of their portfolios to AI-focused companies, though only 7% consider AI their core investment thesis.
