Leadership Exodus At CoinDCX: Now, CISO & CHRO Step Down

SUMMARY

CoinDCX CHRO Mudita Chauhan and CISO Sridhar G have also stepped down from their roles

The exits come three months after the crypto exchange’s CTO Vivek Gupta quit

CoinDCX was hit by a cyber attack in July which resulted in $44 Mn worth of crypto assets being stolen from its internal operational account

Three months after the exit of its CTO, crypto exchange CoinDCX’s CHRO Mudita Chauhan and CISO Sridhar G have also stepped down from their roles.

Both Chauhan and Sridhar are moving on to pursue new opportunities.

“… After five impactful years at CoinDCX, Mudita Chauhan, CHRO, has decided to move on to pursue new opportunities. Sridhar G, CISO, is also moving on after three years with us, leaving behind a strong legacy through his contributions…” CoinDCX cofounder Sumit Gupta said in a post on X.

Gupta added that the unicorn is in the process of filling the vacant roles, while the outgoing CXOs are currently in their transition phase.

“… We have already identified/in the process of closing the next leaders for these roles and are ensuring a smooth transition…” he said.

Sridhar joined CoinDCX from Flipkart in 2023. The BITS Pilani alumnus has over 20 years of experience in the field of cyber security and information technology. He spent most of his career at Wipro, where he last served as the chief information and security officer. He worked with the IT major for 14 years before joining Flipkart in 2019.

Meanwhile, Chauhan, who joined CoinDCX in 2020, has more than 15 years of experience in the field of human resources. Prior to joining CoinDCX, she worked at IDFC Bank, Bank Of America, and Reliance Industries, as per her LinkedIn profile.

Notably, including Chauhan and Sridhar G, three CXOs have left the Bengaluru-based startup in the last four months. There were also reports that its head of legal affairs, Tushar Tarun, was also on his way out.

It is pertinent to mention that CoinDCX was hit by a cyber attack in July which resulted in $44 Mn worth of crypto assets being stolen from its internal operational account.

Afterwards, the Bengaluru police arrested a software engineer of CoinDCX who was suspected to have used his login credentials to exploit confidential financial processes. The techie was suspected to be involved with the hackers who pulled the heist.
