Beauty and cosmetics startup kindlife has raised $8 Mn (more than INR 67 Cr) in a Series A funding round co-led by JB-Dooeun TK Fund and MIXI Global Investments.

The round also saw participation from Kalaari Capital and a clutch of undisclosed marquee angel investors.

With this infusion, the company plans to onboard more brands from Korea and Japan to the Indian market.

Founded in 2021 by Manasa Garemella, Radhika Ghai and Vidit Jain, kindlife is a new age beauty products retailer. The company is currently on the run to cater to India’s rapidly growing K-beauty market with brands from Korea, Japan and other prominent global labels in its platform.

kindlife said that it plans to launch over 20 Korean and Japanese beauty brands on their platform by the end of 2024.

“At kindlife, we understand that Gen Z prioritises quality and authenticity, and we’re committed to making high-quality global beauty brands accessible to them, with a particular focus on premium Korean and Japanese beauty,”Ghai said.

In December 2021, the Gurugram-based company  raised $2.5 Mn in its seed funding round from Kalaari Capital, Titan Capital, Java Capital and others.

This development comes at a time when India’s beauty and personal space has been gaining traction from a lot of investors.

For instance, D2C haircare startup Moxie Beauty raised INR 17.3 Cr ($2.1 Mn) in a seed funding round led by Fireside Ventures, a week ago.

In June, personal care major Lotus Herbals floated a $50 Mn fund to invest in early stage startups operating in the beauty category.
