EV Charging Startup IPEC Nets $3 Mn From Nikhil Kamath’s Gruhas

Bengaluru-based EV charging solutions startup IPEC has raised $3 Mn in a funding round from Gruhas, the venture capital firm cofounded by Zerodha’s Nikhil Kamath and Abhijeet Pai. 

With this infusion, IPEC aims to ramp up its manufacturing, boost presence in the power electronics space and expand globally.

Founded in 2017 by the MEHER Group in partnership with DEKI Electronics and Sungho Electronics, IPEC offers an array of EV charging products, including private, portable, and public chargers and EV connectors and vehicle charging inlets.

The startup claims to have already delivered over 1 Mn EV charging products to top electric two-wheeler OEMS in India, including Ather Energy, Bajaj Auto and Greaves (Ampere).

IPEC also plans to scale up its monthly manufacturing capacity to 50,000 units. 

“With support from Gruhas, we aim to tap global markets and double our revenues in FY26 after witnessing 40% growth in FY25,” IPEC chief executive Zohra Khan said.

IPEC is building high-quality, scalable EV charging infrastructure at a time when India’s electrification efforts demand reliability and speed,” Pai said.

Beyond hardware, IPEC also offers a cloud-based charging management system (CMS) and a mobile application for real-time monitoring and control for EV users and operators.

Gruhas, focused on proptech, sustainability, and consumer brands, has backed 50 companies till date. It counts SolarSquare, Matel, ParkSmart, VRO Hospitality and The Quorum Club among its portfolio firms.
