CarDekho’s insurance arm InsuranceDekho
has announced a slew of new appointments in leadership positions, including Manish Mahajan joining as the chief business officer of consumer business in the startup.
InsuranceDekho said in a statement that Mahajan has over two decades of experience working with leading insurance companies such as Aviva Life Insurance and Max Life Insurance.
In his new role, Mahajan will drive expansion and forge critical partnerships to scale InsuranceDekho’s operations.
Besides, Nishant Gupta has joined as the VP of technology in the company. Gupta earlier worked with companies like BharatPe, Goibibo, and MakeMyTrip.
In his role, Gupta will oversee key engineering initiatives and advance InsuranceDekho’s technological capabilities.
Meanwhile, with around 17 years of experience across large MNCs and startups including Mondelez, Ikea, Flipkart, and Pepperfry, Sonali Mitra, has joined as the VP to lead strategic projects in InsuranceDekho’s founder’s office.
Prashant Kalaver and Shruti Kapoor have joined as the head of internal audit and finance controller at InsuranceDekho, respectively.

Responding to Inc42’s query regarding the job status of the executives holding these positions earlier, Mohan added, “InsuranceDekho is experiencing rapid growth and, to support this momentum, has introduced several new roles designed to complement and steer the company toward continued success. All the roles are newly created, with the exception of the finance controller position.”
Founded in 2016 by Ankit Agrawal and Ish Babbar, InsuranceDekho is an omnichannel insurance platform providing services such as investment options and tax schemes apart from insurance options. The company currently claims to have tie-ups with 48 insurance companies offering over 630 insurance plans on its platform.
The startup said that in addition to the new key leadership hires, InsuranceDekho has also embarked on an ambitious hiring spree. Last year, it hired over 30 associate directors and higher-level executives.
It is worth noting that late last year, the startup raised $60 Mn as part of its ongoing Series B funding round, which was closer to a unicorn tag.
Meanwhile, as per a recent report, InsuranceDekho is also set to acquire a majority stake in Bengaluru-based wealthtech startup BankSathi. The acquisition is expected to help the former build capabilities around selling credit products.
