The India Conference at Harvard, slated to be held on February 15 and 16 this year, will highlight the country’s rise as a global power and the immense opportunities it holds. In its 22nd edition, the annual summit, managed by students, is globally recognised as a premier forum to discuss India’s evolving role on the world stage.

The theme for ‘India Conference at Harvard 2025’ is “From India to the World”. This year’s summit will focus on India’s impact on global trade, policy, and culture.

Hosted across the Harvard University campus, the conference will bring together notable speakers from the fields of government, academia, civil society, and the private sector for discussions on India’s expanding global footprint.

The event will see more than 90 speakers share their thoughts and insights across 30 panel discussions on India’s achievements and challenges, with more than 1,000 in attendance.

Leading the list of distinguished speakers will be Nita Ambani, founder chairperson of Reliance Foundation, who will share her vision on the transformative power of philanthropy, education, and societal impact.

The conference will also host a panel on economy, which will delve into topics like India’s ambitious goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, trade policies, international relations, and growth strategies. The panel will comprise notable speakers like Ashish Chauhan, chief executive officer and managing director of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), and Pramath Raj Sinha, founding dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB) and Ashoka University.

The technology and entrepreneurship panel will see entrepreneurs like Mithun Sacheti (CaratLane), Vaibhav Vardhan (Inc42 Media), Prashant Tandon (Tata 1mg), Kedar Kulkarni (HyperVerge), and Punit K Goyal (BluSmart),  among others, share their journeys and the innovations shaping India’s future. The discussion will encompass various sectors such as consumer, SaaS, fintech, healthtech, deeptech, climate tech, among others.

This year’s edition will also feature a ‘Start-Up Pitch Competition’, which is curated to celebrate entrepreneurship in India. The finalists will get a chance to pitch their startups in front of a panel consisting of potential investors, industry leaders, and mentors. Besides, it will offer cash prizes of over $15,000.

In order to tackle climate risks and sustainability issues in India, ‘Policy Hackathon’ has been organised in partnership with the Indian School of Business (ISB). It will challenge data enthusiasts, policy experts, and innovators to develop evidence-based solutions for India’s sustainable growth. Along with cash prizes of more than $10,000, the winning teams will get a chance to present their solutions to government officials and receive mentorship from experts at Harvard.

The India Conference at Harvard 2025 aims to have discussions and foster collaborations that strengthen the country’s image on the global stage, spanning areas such as policy and innovation to culture and sustainability. It will celebrate Indias transformation from a vibrant, diverse nation to one of the superpowers of the world.

The conference is co-chaired by Arpit Garg (Harvard Business School, 2025), Sanchie Shroff (HBS 2025), Kartik Sahni (HBS, Harvard Kennedy School, 2025) and Ayush Shukla (HKS 2025), who are leading a team of about 100 students from across the university.
