Happi Planet Bags $2 Mn To Expand Its Sustainable Home Care Product Portfolio

Sustainable D2C home care startup Happi Planet has raised INR 18 Cr (over $2 Mn) in a funding round led by existing investor Fireside Ventures, with participation from Prath Ventures. 

The fresh capital will be used to fuel category expansion, broaden the team, and support further product development.

Founded in 2022 by ex- P&G employees Mayank Gupta and Nimeet Dhokai, Happi Planet manufactures and sells plant-based home-care cleaning products for laundry, kitchen, and surface cleaning. Its product range spans key home care categories including laundry care, kitchen care, and surface cleaning. Besides, it has also entered new categories like limescale removal, kitchen cleaning, and copper, bronze & brass cleaning.

The Mumbai-based startup sells these offerings through online marketplaces such as Amazon, Big Basket & D Mart Ready, as well as Reliance Signature offline stores. 

Without divulging numbers, the D2C startup claims to have seen a topline revenue growth of 15X over the past 12 months. 

“…our growth is backed by strong operational efficiency and profitable unit economics, a testament to the strength of our business model and the passion of our people,” the startup’s cofounders said in a joint statement. 

The startup last raised INR 8.47 Cr (about $1 Mn) in a funding round from Fireside Ventures last year. At the time, the startup said it will deploy funding in expanding its offline footprint as well as online presence and is eyeing a 10X growth in top line over the next 12 months. 

Happi Planet competes with the likes of Beco, The Better Home, and Koparo Clean in the sustainable health and personal care space. Just months ago, Happi Planet’s industry competitor Beco raised $10 Mn in its Series B funding round led by Tanglin Venture Partners. 

The development comes at a time when Indian consumers are increasingly embracing sustainable toiletries and home care products as environmental awareness and health consciousness grow. 

Rising concerns over plastic waste, chemical exposure, and water pollution have pushed people toward eco-friendly alternatives such as toxin free cleaners, and plant-based detergents among others. 

The Indian sustainable home hygiene products market is anticipated to grow into a size of $74.1 Mn by FY27, growing at a CAGR of 33%.
