Recruitment startup for grey-collar workers, VOIZ has secured nearly INR 15 Cr ($2 Mn) in its seed funding round led by Omidyar Network India along with a slew of investors.
VOIZ will use the funds to scale up its technology, onboard more talents on the platform, and expand its market presence.

Founded by Rajesh Bernard, Vineet Patil, and Sandeep Nyamati, the Bengaluru-based startup helps organisations connect with grey-collar workers for various job opportunities such as customer service, telecalling, sales, data entry, virtual assistance and tech support, among others.
“Our supply pool, which is made up of over 30 females, gives us a big first advantage in delivering quality and quantity. The next thing is how templatized the jobs are to scale significantly, and we are working on it relentlessly. The tech in this space will mature over the next 3-5 years and we seem to be in the right place at the right time to make a disruption.” said Vineet Patil, cofounder and CBO at VOIZ.
VOIZ said it aims to generate employment opportunities for over 3 Mn grey-collar workers in the next five years.
It faces competition from the likes of grey-collar recruitment startups–Apna and Able Jobs.
According to the NITI Aayog report, India had 68 Lakh gig workers in the economy in 2020. By 2030, the count of gig workers is expected to increase to 2.35 Cr.
Meanwhile, a report by Lightbox states that nearly 300 Mn workers are engaged in blue and grey-collar jobs in the country. On the other hand, approximately 15-20% of the professionals are involved in white-collar jobs in the country.
