“Save on Everything” reads a caption on one of the walls of couponing company GrabOn’s new office. But one look at the office and you realise that the startup has spared no effort to make it in the list of quirky-snazzy-offices-of-startups!
Says Ashok Reddy, founder of GrabOn, “When everywhere you hear talks of layoffs and startups burning money, our new office is a testimonial of how we have built a sustainable and profitable business without being VC funded. And that’s because we believe in what we do.”
Have a closer look at the showpieces in the reception in the shape of symbol of Indian Rupee! You will get an idea that GrabOn is pretty serious when it says ‘Save on Everything’!
The new office, spread over 12,000 square feet, is situated in the heart of the city’s Madhapur area, close to the tech-heavy Hitec City area in Hyderabad. Comprising of 45 employees, GrabOn is focused on leveraging new technologies to crack the incentivization market. One look at the new headquarters and the innovative sleeping pods for its employees and you would agree to the company’s focus on innovation!
Or one could take a peek at the brightly lit and brightly painted Idea Zone, which seems to have just the right amount of energy to spark unique ideas! The more intriguing fact about the zone is that the walls and floors are writeable! This was done to encourage employees to feel that it is just an extension of their workstation and not a formal meeting room. Arvind adds, “People can write on the floor and the walls, or stick notes; at some point, we come back to all their ideas.”
Or the Conference Room which just has the right message on its wall-‘Connect the dots!’
Moving on to the workstation area, it’s the colorful Storyline mural on the wall which will catch one’s attention. The 70 feet of space has been beautifully employed to graphically narrate the journey of GrabOn and its major milestones along the way. Need more proof that walls have tales of their own to tell?!
The couponing industry is a fast growing one and GrabOn is focusing on exploring more aspects within the space, in addition to couponing. Towards this, the company also expects to host a headcount of over 70 in the near future. And hence, for some serious stuff, the need of a Turbo Room.
This is the room where serious work happens. When there is a specific amount of work that needs strenuous hours, Turbo Room is the war zone where employees lock themselves in and accomplish what they have set out to.
And to refresh oneself after serious gruelling work, what better than an Unwind Zone and a Free Zone.
With its relaxed seating and cozy cushions, Free Zone is just the place to recharge a tired mind by grabbing a book or listening to music!
And to complete the picture is a snazzy café which looks another place designed to unwind, while eating!
And after one has unwound thoroughly, there’s nothing like a bit of exercise to fire one’s brain cylinders! That can be easily done in the well-equipped gym in the office itself.
Or, if that doesn’t fire you, maybe a quick game of table tennis does the job for you?
While the office is spacious and open, it also makes sure that employees have just the right amount of personal space as well. Hence the private and cosy Telephone Booth for making calls!
All in all, GrabOn’s new office looks just the place from where it is poised to bring in more innovation to the couponing space in the coming years. We are all eyes!
