First Mile Logistics Startup GoPigeon Launches Surface, Aims To Simplify Logistics Needs Of B2B Segment

Bengaluru-based on-demand first-mile logistics company GoPigeon has recently launched a new product, ‘Surface,’ to cater to the logistics needs of the B2B segment.

‘Surface’ is a customised tech product which allows companies to ship a package anywhere across the world without the hassle of dealing with multiple courier companies.

The orders can be uploaded by a simple web interface and can be tracked thereon. It also provides other benefits such as budgeting, bulk order processing, multiple partners, insurance, automated MIS and more.

“GoPigeon envisioned taking logistics on tech platform and through machine learning and Artificial Intelligence we have created an amalgamated platform where the needs of customers and services of logistic partners create an everlasting and simplified experience,” says Deovrat Singh, co-founder of the company.

Deovrat Singh has also been awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year: SAAS and IT services award recently.

Deovrat Singh co-founded GoPigeon with Yeshu Singh and Sourav Sarkar in June 2015. It was initially launched with the name ‘Pigen’ and rebranded itself to GoPigeon in November 2015.

The initial product was more focussed towards the C2C segment and helped individual users to send the courier simply by taking a snapshot of the parcel and fill in the destination in the app. The package was handed over to GoPigeon’s representative, which would then be packed as per industry standards and shipped to the destination.

However, this option is no longer available. “For now, we provide a technological solution via dashboard/API integration under which orders are uploaded and processed in bulk providing point-to- point tracking of the shipment. This service is for the ecommerce, B2C and B2B segment,” said Geetica Srivastava, Marketing Head at GoPigeon.

The GoPigeon service is currently operating from four cities – Bengaluru, Delhi, Surat and Mumbai. From the initial 100-200 orders a day, the company is processing 20,000 orders a day and is catering to more than 21,000 pincodes across India in August 2016. Also, it is currently working with 200+ clients such as Chumbak, Craftsvilla, Paytm, Happily Unmarried, Voonik, LimeRoad, etc.

The new product ‘Surface’ is B2B oriented and more a web-based product. This is a glimpse of the new product, Surface:
