GenAI Startup Ikonz Gets Strategic Investment To Boost Its IP Portfolio

GenAI startup Ikonz Studios, which manages digital IPs across metaverse and blockchain, has secured a strategic Pre-Series A investment from Blue Amber Investments’ Marc Jordan, MK Ventures’ founder Madhusudhan Kela, Enam Group’s principal owner Akash Bhanshali and Expedia CTO Ramana Thumu.

However, the company did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.

Ikonz plans to use the fresh capital to strengthen its AI capabilities, scale up its IP portfolio and talent acquisition and expand its global footprint.

With the support of industry visionaries like Ramana, Marc, Kela, and Bhanshali, we are poised to scale our impact globally—expanding our IP, strengthening our technology, and enhancing the way people interact with AI,” Ikonz founder and chief executive officer Abinav Varma Kalidindi said.

Founded by Kalidindi in 2021, Ikonz Studios provides individuals as well as businesses with AI-powered solutions like AI copilot suite, Avatar Interface and holographic devices. These solutions help users with streamlining workforce, real-time information, decision support and immersive storytelling and experience.

The Hyderabad-based startup claims to have served notable personalities like Amitabh Bachchan with its interactive AI experiences.

In 2022, the startup raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from early-stage VC firm Village Global and technology investment firm Woodstock. It also claims to be backed by actor Rana Daggubati and Anthill Ventures’ founder Prasad Vanga.

The development comes at a time when the Indian startup ecosystem is betting on GenAI to boost adoption in the advanced tech space.

Last year,GenAI translation platform Devnagri has bagged an undisclosed amount as a part of its Pre-Series A funding led by Inflection Point Ventures.

In June last year, Bengaluru-based GenAI-powered product photography startup Ayna raised $1.5 Mn (about INR 12.5 Cr) in its seed funding round, led by Inflexor Ventures.

India is home to more than 200 GenAI startups that have raised more than $1.2 Bn since 2020. As per Inc42 report, more than 360 investors are actively backing GenAI startups in India.
