Indian startups cumulatively raised $268.6 Mn across 28 deals between January 12- 16, marking a 293% jump from $68.4 Mn worth funds deployed in the Indian startup last week across 19 deals.

Key Startup Funding Highlights Of The Week

Ecommerce continued to be investors’ favourite sector with 7 startups raising a total of $49 Mn. Other sectors including advanced hardware & technology, cleantech, enterprise tech and fintech raised capital across 3 deals each.
Fintech trailed ecommerce with $38 Mn raised across two deals this week.
Zerodha’s investment arm Rainmatter and Stellaris Venture Partners were the most active investors this week, backing two startups apiece.
Seed funding surged to $16.4 Mn this week across eight deals this week, down slightly from the $16.8 Mn raised by startups this week.

Startup IPO Updates This Week

Media SaaS major Amagi’s IPO was fully subscribed on the final day of bidding. The public float received bids for 82.4 Cr shares against the 2.73 Cr on offer, translating to a 30.22X oversubscription.
Used car marketplace CARS24 aims to go public in the next six to twelve months, as per cofounder and CEO Vikram Chopra. The startup said its adjusted net revenue jumped 18% YoY to INR 651 Cr in the first half of FY26 while adjusted EBITDA loss declined by 36% YoY to INR 162 Cr.
Logistics major Shadowfax has filed its RHP for an INR 1,900 Cr IPO which is scheduled to open on January 20. The company set the IPO price band at INR 118 to INR 124 per share, translating to an IPO valuation of INR 7,168 Cr (about $795 Mn).

M&A Activities This Week

Listed geospatial technology firm MapmyIndia acquired around a 6% minority stake in indoor navigation startup Iwayplus for INR 2 Cr to support innovative technologies and broaden its business portfolio.
Global asset manager State Street Investment Management (SSIM) will acquire a 23% stake in Groww’s asset management arm, Groww AMC, through an investment of INR 580.02 Cr comprising both primary and secondary capital.
FMCG startup Mitra is set to merge with BSE-listed agritech firm Tierra Agrotech with an aim to go for an INR 787 Cr IPO within this year. The deal is yet to receive approval from SEBI and NCLT.
Blockchain unicorn Polygon Labs is set to acquire US-based crypto platforms Coinme and Sequence in a $250 Mn all-cash deal. The acquisitions will help Polygon deepen its focus on payments and regulated stablecoin use cases in the US market.

Other Developments

Urban Company investor Dharana Capital raised $250 Mn (INR 2,254.8 Cr) for its second growth fund to support technology and consumer-focused businesses in India. Following the close of Fund II, the firm said its total assets under management have increased to $450 Mn.
Reliance Industries Ltd’s (RIL) digital subsidiary Jio Platforms is reportedly considering a $4 Bn (INR 36,100 Cr) public offering. RIL plans to dilute just 2.5% of Jio Platforms’ equity, given the scale of the digital business.
SaaS unicorn BrowserStack unveiled its third share buyback programme worth $125 Mn, aimed at offering liquidity to employees and early backers. The company said the buyback, set to be rolled out in the coming weeks, will cover more than 500 current and former employees, as well as a section of its early investors.
