Dating platform Flutter Asia has acquired its competitor Perfect Match Jakarta (PM Jakarta) for an undisclosed amount. Post-acquisition, PM Jakarta will be rebranded as Flutter Asia.

According to a press statement, Gordon Enns, co-founder of Flutter Asia said that the company aims at developing a dating platform with strong emphasis on security. He said, “Our hope is that users who have met their match in this site, would recommend the platform to other potential users.”

Indonesia-based Flutter Asia was founded by Gordon Enns. It targets mature users looking for a serious relationship. The users also have to be 21 years of age to use the platform. The app claims to ensure security and reliability by having the users upload a copy of a professional photo, citizen ID card, driver’s license, school certificate, passport and business card while joining the platform.

On the other hand, online dating platform PM Jakarta was founded by David Adrian in 2012. It targets Jakarta’s business professionals over the age of 28.

Flutter Asia filters matches based on the user’s verification status. Their user names appear as numbers and are visible to only those users who match each other’s criteria. The app also has a Tinder-like feature of ‘swipe-right,swipe-left’.

Earlier this month, online dating platform Setipe was acquired by Lunch Actually. Another dating app, aimed at mature audience in the Indonesian market is India-based app ‘Woo’. In February 2017, Woo acquired a Los Angeles-based dating portal that focuses on the South Asian community called DUS, the ‘desi dating app.’ Other startups apart from Flutter Asia in the dating domain includes – Tinder, Badoo, etc.
