Ride-hailing major Uber India has launched a paid membership programme ‘Uber One’ that allows users to earn credits of up to 10% on two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler rides.

The feature is now live on the Uber app and is available in all major cities such as Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai among others.

However, it is not clear if the company has fully launched the service or it is running a pilot programme.

Inc42 has reached out to Uber for comments on the development. The story will be updated based on the response.

Uber One subscribers can save up to 10% on two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler rides, up to 35% on Shuttle and 1% on Intercity and Rentals.

However, Uber One credits are capped at INR 150 per trip and limited to 150 rides for the monthly and quarterly plan, and 600 rides for the yearly plan.

Members will be assigned top rated drivers on the app and can avail of the service 24X7.

Further, the cab aggregator is also offering a free Zomato Gold membership for 3 months to Uber One subscribers in what is a limited-time offer.

The Uber One feature is being seen as a replacement for the Ride Pass programme that the company reportedly discontinued in September this year. The programme allowed users to book unlimited rides for a monthly subscription fee.

The development comes at a time when Uber is bolstering its services in India, which is a key market for the ride-hailing platform. Uber, which came to India in 2013, claims to have over 10 Lakh drivers onboard and more than 17 Mn monthly active users in the country.

Earlier this month, Uber India introduced a women rider preference in the app, with the aim to prioritise women’s safety. Further, Uber now allows driver partners to can now cash out earnings instantly.

In September, the company partnered with IPO-bound Shadowfax to integrate the logistics company’s two wheeler fleet with its UberMoto bike taxi offering.

It was also reported earlier that the ride-hailing giant was looking to bring back its high-end service Uber Black to India after a hiatus of almost 10 years to cater to the premium segment.
