Pune-based drone startup DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations has inked a pact with Vimaan Aerospace to provide drones and drone-related training and services.
The collaboration is focused on applications in the agriculture sector, survey and surveillance, solar panel cleaning, windmill maintenance, facade cleaning, and defence, DroneAcharya said in a stock exchange filing.
This alliance is poised to commence with projects in Satara, Maharashtra, and expand nationwide in the near future.
“We believe that this collaboration will not only enhance our capabilities but will also position both entities as leaders in the ongoing drone revolution,” said Prateek Srivastava, founder and managing director of DroneAcharya.
Founded by Srivastava in 2017, DroneAcharya offers drone-based enterprise solutions across sectors like oil and gas, mining, infrastructure and agriculture. It also provides training for drone piloting, drone building, drone data processing, and using industrial drone applications, among others.
The company reported PAT of INR 3.97 Cr during H1 FY24, which is a massive increase from INR 13.09 Lakh in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
It recently bagged a contract from the Indian Army under which it will help capacity building and offer advanced drone training at the Mechanised Army Courses Group, Ahmednagar. As a result of this, DroneAcharya observed a 7% jump in its share price to INR 201 during the intraday trading on the BSE.
The company also bagged a contract worth INR 15.8 Lakh from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in December last year to deliver 5G-enabled drones equipped with a visual (RGB) camera, alongside a ground control station designed for remote access and seamless live data relay.
Further, planning expansion, the company also acquired 51% stakes in yet another drone manufacturing startup PYI Technologies for an undisclosed amount.
According to Inc42’s Indian Drone Tech Startup Landscape & Market Opportunity Report 2023, DroneAcharya’s market value stood at $57.8 Mn+ as on January 08, 2024.
Also the report states that since its inception in 2017, the company has secured a funding of $4.6 Mn from the likes of Aegis Investment Fund, Maven India Fund, Nav Capital.
As per the study, the Indian drone sector is estimated to reach $13 Bn+ market size by 2030 at a 22% CAGR from 2022.
