Logistics major Delhivery has roped in former Airtel executive Vani Venkatesh as chief business officer (CBO).

It is pertinent to note that the announcement comes ahead of the Delhi NCR-based company’s Q3 FY25 results slated for today (February 7).

In an exchange filing, Delhivery said that Venkatesh will join the company, starting from February 28.

According to a company statement, Venkatesh would lead its transportation businesses, which includes Express parcel and Part-truckload. Moreover, she will also head the supply chain division, in addition to the client servicing and marketing functions.

“Venkatesh is a seasoned leader with experience across world-class organisations. Her experience of running a complex business in a dynamic market environment will strengthen our management team enormously”, said Sahil Barua, managing director and CEO at Delhivery.

With more than 20 years of experience, Venkatesh joins Delhivery after working for more than eight years at Airtel, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Venkatesh joined Airtel back in 2016 and has held various leadership positions in the company from being the CEO of retail and Delhi NCR region to also serving as the chief marketing officer for a period of one year between 2018 to 2019. She left the telecom major back in December last year, where she held her last position as chief executive for global business.

Apart from that, Venkatesh has also worked for other notable brands such as McKinsey & Company, HUL, Abbot Nutrition and PwC in various management roles from being a consultant to leading new product strategies.

The new appointment comes at a time when the company has seen major shuffles at its top brass in the last few months.

In December last year, the company roped in Navneet Kumar as the head of supply chain services division and Yubi Surajit Das to lead its logistics platform OS1. Also, Anindya Ghose resigned as the non executive independent director citing various personal commitments as the reason the same month.

Founded in 2011 by Barua, Bhavesh Manglani, Kapil Bharati, Mohit Tandon, and Suraj Saharan, Delhivery is one of the major logistics providers in the country serving D2C brands and other B2B enterprises with its services. The company claims to have fulfilled over 2 Bn orders and serves in over 18,600 pin codes of the country working with an employee strength of 57,000.

It reported a consolidated profit of INR 10.2 Cr in Q2 FY25 as against a loss of INR 102.9 Cr in the year-ago quarter. Moreover, its revenue from services jumped 13% to INR 2,189.7 Cr for the period in review YoY from INR INR 1,941.7 Cr.

Shares of Delhivery hit an intraday low of INR 307.45 on the BSE today (February 7), 4.4% lower from its previous day close.
