Deepinder Goyal Launches $25 Mn Fund To Unlock Secrets Of Longevity

Eternal founder and Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has announced a $25 Mn (INR 219.5 Cr) personal seed fund for his biological research initiative, Continue Research, which aims to support upstream research in human aging and systems biology.

“Today, we are expanding Continue Research to include a $25 Mn fund (entirely personally backed) to support researchers across the world who dare to ask simpler questions than anyone else,” Goyal said in a post on LinkedIn.

Founded in 2023, Continue Research began as a small internal effort with a team of researchers exploring a hypothesis around the “leverage points” in the human body that could fundamentally alter how people age and live. 

“We’ve been investigating a penny-drop insight about human ageing… something that’s been hiding in plain sight,” Goyal added.

In his post, the Eternal CEO noted that the goal of Continue Research is to understand biology more deeply and contribute toward conscious evolution, extending healthy human lifespan and function over time.

Important to mention that Continue Research is not part of Eternal (which includes Zomato, Blinkit, Hyperpure, Feeding India, District and Temple). Instead, it operates as a philanthropic platform to fund high-risk, long-term scientific exploration without commercial pressure.

Goyal, who has also cofounded ventures such as LAT Aerospace and is a prominent startup investor, said he sees short human lifespans as a root cause of “short-term decision making” in society. 

“Our goal is to extend healthy human function long enough that humans stop making short-term decisions,” he wrote.

The Continue Research website invites global researchers to apply for grants, emphasising an open-science approach with “no rights reserved”.

The launch of the Continue fund comes amid a broader push in India toward research-led innovation.

The government recently announced an INR 1 Lakh Cr research corpus to support deep science projects. Globally, interest in AI-driven biology and longevity research is also accelerating, attracting founders, scientists, and investors alike.

For now, Goyal remains the sole backer of Continue Research, which is expected to fund scientists and labs worldwide working on foundational biological insights that could lead to future spinouts or open scientific breakthroughs.
