Zomato’s cofounder and group CEO Deepinder Goyal has reportedly incubated a personal venture ‘Continue’ focused on longevity through health tracking and mental wellness.
The domain Continue.com, described as “The Ultimate Health Tracker,” is associated with Upslope Advisors Pvt Ltd, a company registered in April this year, Moneycontrol reported.
However, Zomato shared an official statement with Inc42 saying, “ We are not venturing into any new space, and will continue to focus on our four businesses.”
Commenting on the development, Deepinder said that as of now Continue is his personal health and wellness team which tracks and researches how to keep him running at my peak performance.
The website which reflects the current status of “Coming Soon” reportedly lists Goyal as director alongside Zomato employees Akriti Mehta and Simrandeep Singh as additional directors.
Additionally, the report also included Ashish Goel, former head of product design at Zomato and Blinkit as a part of the new venture, although his role remained undefined.
The report also pointed out that the venture has an authorised share capital of INR 50 Lakh and the paid-up capital is also of equal amount.
This venture of Goyal aligns with his broader interests in health and wellness as he had already invested in health startups like Ultrahuman and Pristyn Care.
Last year, Goyal shared his experience of losing 15 Kg over four years, underlining his shift in his priorities toward health alongside work.
It is also important to note that Zomato as a company also seems committed to wellness as it appointed its first Chief Fitness Officer, Anmol Gupta, to oversee employee wellness initiatives last year.
While Goyal’s venture does not directly involve Zomato’s core business operations which are focused on food delivery and related services, it does reflect a growing trend among entrepreneurs to diversify into the health and wellness sectors.
Some of the former Zomato executives have already made their foray into the health and wellness segment.
Zomato’s cofounder Gaurab Gupta earlier this year launched Gabit a smart ring maker and health platform that raised $9.5 Mn from investors including Goyal and Kunal Shah.
Similarly, Zomato’s other cofounder Pankaj Chaddah founded Shyft in 2021 offering personalised wellness solutions and secured $6 Mn from Binny Bansal and General Catalyst.
