MakeMyTrip raising $75 Mn in fresh capital

Online travel company, MakeMyTrip is looking to raise over $75 Mn in fresh funding by selling 3 Mn shares. “The Company is proposing to offer and sell up to 3,000,000 ordinary shares and certain selling shareholders are proposing to offer and sell up to 1,500,000 ordinary shares in an underwritten public offering. The selling shareholders and another shareholder have also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 675,000 ordinary shares,” according to the statement issued by MakeMyTrip.

Citigroup, J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank Securities are acting as joint book running managers of the offering.

Bookadda acquires KoolSkool

Online retailer of educational services and learning products, Bookadda which had acquired KoolSkool.in a month back has now integrated it on its platform.  According to the company it has now become a comprehensive learning solutions provider, the country’s first marketplace for learning, which covers school, college and advanced education segments and competitive exams, for both academic and professional requirements.

Bookadda was Co-founded by serial entrepreneur Hemant Kohli and technology ace Arjun Mendu Kumar.

Healthcare startup – iKure raises Rs 70 lakh in funding

Kolkata-based healthcare services startup iKure Techsoft Pvt Ltd,  has raised Rs 70 lakh ($114,217) in a seed round of funding led by its exiting investors including Japanese  impact investment firm – ARUN LLC, Mumbai Angels and existing angels investors from the Intellecap Impact Investment Network, says reports.

The new round of funding will be used by the company to scale up to 25 centers and also for expanding its operations to Orissa. Since January 2013, it has treated over 8000 patients through 12 RHCs in rural West Bengal.

Satoko Kono, President of ARUN LLC, will be joining iKure’s board with this investment.

“iKure appealed to the investors due to the impact created by providing access to healthcare at the grassroots level.” said Ashpi Gupta, AVP at Mumbai Angels.

Snapdeal enters into strategic partnership with Aircel

Online marketplace, Snapdeal has recently partnered with Aircel, to offer a lucrative deal for its customers. The partnership will provide the customers buying data enabled mobile phone with upto 3 GB of free 3G/2G data from Aircel for a period of 3 months.

Customers can redeem this offer on 2G/3G data from Aircel for a period of 3 months without any cost being involved. Aircel subscribers new or existing will have to send these promo codes to a short code of Aircel (i.e. 121). This promo code will be shared by Snapdeal to their customers whenever a handset is purchased from their website, during the promo period.
