To strengthen its position in the tech-enabled fleet management, RPG Group-owned CEAT has launched Excellerator — a competition to identify and partner with upcoming startups.
The competition is expected to identify entrepreneurs that are addressing large market opportunities in new-age mobility businesses and could have a strong collaboration with CEAT. These new-age mobility businesses include connected vehicles, shared mobility services and fleet management/logistics services.
Anant Goenka, Managing Director of CEAT Ltd, said, “We are looking forward to bringing on board entrepreneurs who can provide viable solutions for our business needs. Along with the winners, we will work together towards achieving our common goals for the future of the automobile industry.”
Applicants can mail in their applications to [email protected] by September 30, 2019. The application should include a brief outline of the proposal or solution the startup offers, its target market and possible business benefits for CEAT.
The applications will be evaluated and shortlisted by the tyre manufacturer. The shortlisted entrepreneurs will be invited to RPG House in Mumbai to showcase their business ideas to a jury consisting of the company’s upper management.
The result will be announced in November. The winners would get mentoring and guidance from CEAT’s experienced management. There is also a chance to be funded by the company and gain access to its business network across India.
The company has already invested in Tyresnmore, an online tyre retailer that is also a doorstep fitment provider, and E fleet system, an ERP platform for fleet operators.
Earlier this year, India’s largest cast manufacturer Maruti Suzuki had also announced a Mobile & Automobile Innovation Lab (MAIL) to promote innovation in India for automobile and mobility space.
MAIL’s mission was to identify innovatively and cutting edge solution through startups that have a futuristic and customer-oriented approach. The programme was in collaboration with GHV Accelerator.
