Zomato-owned Blinkit has partnered with Bharti Airtel to kick off 10-minute delivery of SIM cards across 16 cities.

The service is currently available in Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata and Hyderabad.

Blinkit cofounder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa said in a post on X, “Starting today, customers can get a SIM delivered and choose to get a new prepaid or postpaid connection, or switch their existing number to Airtel.”

“Airtel has also created a new flow which allows customers to complete SIM activation with a simple self-verification using Aadhaar at home – no store visits, no paperwork,” he added.

The development comes months after the quick commerce platform included Apple products in its product categories in select cities such as Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

The platform initially began delivering electronics offerings like laptops, monitors and printers in January this year, by partnering with companies such as HP, Lenovo, Zebronics, MSI and Canon.

To note, its parent company Zomato has been infusing capital heavily in the past few months to stay ahead of its competitors in the quick commerce race amid the rising pressure of securing market share.

The foodtech major last infused INR 1,500 Cr in its quick commerce arm, in late February. Prior to that, Zomato poured in around INR 500 Cr in Blinkit, in January, bringing its total capital infusion into the platform up to INR 4,300 Cr, since it was acquired.

Further, with the increased investment from the listed major, Blinkit is also looking to double its dark stores to 2,000 stores by December 2025.

Recently, the platform began delivering in select parts of Jammu.

On the financial side, Blinkit’s adjusted EBITDA loss grew 15.7% to INR 103 Cr in the third quarter of FY25, from INR 89 Cr in Q3 FY24.

Meanwhile, the quick commerce platform reported that its revenue jumped 120% to INR 1,399 Cr in Q3 FY25 from INR 644 Cr in the year-ago quarter.
