Barasia is a management graduate from the London Business School and has completed executive education at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

The appointment comes amid several leadership changes in India’s investment and startup ecosystem. Earlier this week, Peak XV Partners witnessed the exit of its managing directors Shailesh Lakhani and Abheek Anand, who had been with the VC firm for over 17 years and 12 years.

Last month, Chiratae Ventures appointed former Orios Venture Partners’ executive Saharsh Sharma as the vice-president of investments to lead its North India operations. Sharma’s move followed his December 2024 exit from Orios, where he served as the assistant vice-president.

In December 2024, Elevation Capital strengthened its US presence by bringing in former Meta executive Krishna Mehra as partner to lead SaaS and AI investments.
