Hyderabad-based Axirium Aerospace has secured $3.5 Mn (over INR 31 Cr) in its seed funding led by Shastra VC and BEENEXT. The round saw additional participation from angel investors including Helion Advisors cofounder Ashish Gupta and AIG Hospitals vice chairman PVS Raju.

The aerospace component manufacturer aims to deploy the capital in building an advanced precision-manufacturing facility, while also allocating a portion towards hiring, the startup said in a statement.

“This fundraise will enable us to expand capacity, deepen our engineering and manufacturing excellence, and build long-term partnerships that strengthen global supply chains,” Axirium’s cofounder and CEO Nishant Khurana said.

Founded in 2025 by ex-Tata Advanced Systems Ltd (TASL) executives Khurana, Neeraj Agarwal and Piyush Agarwal, Axirium Aerospace makes high-precision metal parts and small assemblies that are used in aircrafts. It shapes, cuts, and builds components used by major global aerospace companies and their suppliers.

The startup claims to have served more than 200 customers, including global and Indian OEMs in commercial and defense aerospace, while having worked with over 1,000 suppliers, and has delivered above 1 Mn parts annually.

Meanwhile, the startup founders claim to have won over $3 Bn order books and managed $300 Mn annual procurement during their careers, which cumulatively span over 45 years.

In this segment, Axirium directly competes with recently launched startup Jeh Aerospace. The startup, also founded by ex-TASL executives Venkatesh Mudragalla and Vishal Rohit Sanghavi in 2022, has raised over INR 100 Cr. It  manufactures and supplies precision components for the global aerospace and defense industry, specialising in aero-engines and aero-structure solutions.

At a time when the Indian government has been bullish on Make in India initiatives, these tech-focussed young startups are eyeing a chunk of the global aerospace parts manufacturing market. The market opportunity for these companies is poised to grow from $935.4 Bn in 2023 to $1,290.07 Bn by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 4.1% during the period.
