Early and growth stage-focussed VC firm Atomic Capital has announced the final close of its maiden fund at INR 400 Cr.

With this fund, the VC firm aims to back Pre Series A and Series A startups operating in the consumer tech and consumer-enabler segments. The average first cheque size will be around INR 10-30 Cr, with the rest of the amount to be invested during the follow-on rounds, the firm said in a statement.

Atomic Capital aims to back 10-12 startups under this fund, the VC firm added. The fund announced its first close at INR 155 Cr in 2024.

The maiden fund will focus on areas including food & beverages, nutraceuticals, personal care & beauty, jewellery, apparel & footwear, pet care, travel & accessories, electronics accessories, home furnishing, logistics, financial services, ecommerce SaaS, omnichannel infrastructure and manufacturing.

“Over the next 2–3 years, we plan to deploy both initial and follow-on capital, aligned with our overall fund timeline of eight years. We are currently evaluating over 20 companies and have already issued a term sheet for our fifth investment,” said Atomic Capital founding and managing partner Apoorv Gautam.

Founded in 2024 by Gautam, Atomic Capital is an early stage VC which has made four investments and deployed a total of INR 50 Cr across these rounds in the past 12 months.

In September 2024, the VC firm infused INR 12 Cr in D2C beauty startup Conscious Chemist.

In November, the VC firm co-led a $3 Mn funding round in Dairy startup Doodhvale Farms, along with Singularity Early Opportunities Fund.

Similarly, Rio Beverage and Gurugram-based women’s western apparel brand Anny also raised funds from Atomic Capital

Indian Investors Showing Strong Appetite For Early Stage Bets

The fund launch comes on the back of Indian investors being bullish on making early stage bets. Several industry leaders opine that initial investments are risky as the VC is betting on the potential instead of financial growth numbers.

The Indian startup ecosystem witnessed the launch of multiple early stage funds in the first six months of 2025.

For instance, the wholly-owned subsidiary of 360 ONE WAM, 360 ONE Asset, recently launched an INR 500 Cr early stage venture capital fund to back seed and Series A startups across sectors, including consumer technology, fintech infrastructure, generative AI, spacetech, defence and precision manufacturing.

In January, venture capital fund SamVed floated a $50 Mn fund to back tech-focused early-stage startups in India with target sectors including AI, agritech, healthcare, fintech, e-commerce, upskilling and consumer brands.

As per Inc42 report, the early stage investment amount grew 18% year-on-year (YoY) to more than $188 Mn in the first half of 2025 across 104 deals.
