AI chip giant NVIDIA’s managing director for South Asian region, Vishal Dhupar, today (October 24) said that AI-based health companies are bringing diagnostic solutions to the country.
Speaking at Nvidia’s AI Summit held in Mumbai, Dhupar said, “We have companies who have been working on health as many of us know it’s been challenging how we look after our health.”
“Diagnostics coming from Qure.AI is really helping us solve many of these challenges,” he further added.
Apart from the healthcare sector, Dhupar also mentioned companies, including Yotta and E2E, that help NVIDIA with computing infrastructure in the country.
Talking on the large language models, he named companies like SARVAM AI, enabling a better communication environment in the country.
It is pertinent to note that NVIDIA has partnered with more than 2,000 Indian startups since its inception, CEO Jensen Huang said at the company’s AI summit today.
The company recently started delivering its GH200 AI chips to its Indian partners, such as Tata Communications and Jio Platforms, to help build AI-cloud infrastructure in India.
The Indian government is also in talks to strike a deal with NVIDIA to procure graphics processing units (GPUs) for its artificial intelligence (AI) mission. The government aims to provide these GPUs to local startups, researchers, academic institutions and other users at a subsidised rate under the mission worth INR 10,000 Cr.
Last year, the company announced its partnership with Indian tech giants like Reliance and Tata Group.
Under the partnership with Tata Group, NVIDIA aims to build the country’s first artificial intelligence (AI) supercomputer, which will be powered by NVIDIA’s GH200 Grace Hopper superchip and offer Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform for AI services.
