Digital marketing startup Wubba Lubba Dub Dub (WLDD) has acquired a majority stake in D2C sneaker brand 7-10, a month after it bought ScoopWhoop from The Good Glamm Group.

WLDD has picked up over 70% stake in the sneaker brand in an all-cash deal. 7-10 will now function as a subsidiary of the Bengaluru-based startup.

Founded in 2021 by Shibani Bhagat, 7-10 claims to be a 100% homegrown sneaker brand for men and women. The Mumbai-based brand also offers customisation in its sneakers.

Meanwhile, WLDD, founded in 2018 by Arihant Jain,Jaidev Kesti and Vivekanand Kilari is a digital marketing platform that enhances social media presence of brands through meme marketing, short-form video content and influencer marketing.

It claims to have catered to more than 120 brands and run over 1,000 social media campaigns till date. WLDD claims to have a community of more than 10,000 creators on its platform.

Commenting on the rationale behind the 7-10 acquisition, Jain told Inc42, “We want to understand each and every aspect of running and growing a D2C brand so that if I go to my clients in the similar space, I can offer them something that I have tried.”

Besides, WLDD plans to expand its offerings and transform into a new-age media tech company. The startup is looking to acquire four more brands in the media and tech space, one of which is in the due diligence phase.

“We are focussed towards creating a new-age media tech company and everything that supports the vision of media marketing tech. We are buying companies in that domain and boosting our capabilities to provide service to the emerging brands,” the cofounder and CEO said.

On the financial front, the startup is expected to cross the $10 Mn (about INR 86 Cr) revenue mark in the current fiscal year (FY25).

Last month, The Good Glamm Group completed the sale of its digital media unit ScoopWhoop to WLDD. Now, WLDD expects ScoopWhoop to generate a revenue of INR 20 Cr in the financial year 2025-26 (FY26).

The acquisition of 7-10 comes at a time when a silent revolution seems to be brewing in the Indian sneakers market. Besides established players like Campus, Bata, and Liberty, a number of startups like Comet, Neeman’s, Yoho, Solethreads, among others, are also looking to gain a share in the burgeoning sneakers market.

As per a report by Statista, India’s sneaker market is expected to generate a revenue of $3.1 Bn in 2025.
