One good way of getting through your daily workload is to divide it into bite sized tasks. This helps you break complex tasks into simple actionable ones. Once you focus on the pieces one by one, the whole picture starts forming. It seems to be a nicer way of doing work compared to attacking the whole problem head first, in my opinion. This way of approaching tasks forms the basis of the Getting Things Done productivity system.
There are some excellent to-do services out there on the internet which can help you track your tasks beautifully. Today, we will be talking about the top 4 tools/apps to help you track your tasks and to-dos better.
1. Any.do
Any.do is a beautiful and simple todo manager. It is available on Android and iOS. They have recently released their desktop web version too!
Any.do lets you add tasks to its queue which can be divided into sections such as Today, Tomorrow, Upcoming and Someday. Depending on the time and date that you add for a task, the app puts it in the relevant section. You will get a notification about the task as soon as it is time. You can snooze this task for later until you finally get it done.
Any.do combined with the calendar app Cal is the one-two punch that you will need to get things done.

2. Wunderlist
Wunderlist is so well designed, that I was tempted to use it instead of Any.do. This is a cross-platform app which is available for Android, iOS, Mac, Windows and the Web.
It has all the bells and whistles that you would need from a todo app such as recurring reminders, notifications, cloud sync, reminders, notes, task and sub-tasks, collaboration support etc. It is a fully featured application and can be used by you and your team to work on a big project together. You can also use it in an individual capacity to keep track of your tasks.

3. Google Keep
Google Keep is a new task and todo service which is available for free to Google users. It is available on Android, iOS and the web.
It is a simple service which lets you add tasks and then strike them out later after they have been completed. You can add a list of tasks, set reminders and also archive/ trash your tasks after you are done with them. The tasks are synced between your mobile and your web browser so you can access it from almost anywhere.
Google Keep is a very simple app and does not have all the features that might exist in the previous two apps. If you like simplicity, then this one is for you.

4. Remember the milk
This is a free online tool which you can use for all your tasks and reminder related needs. It is similar in concept to Wunderlist. It can be integrated with Gmail, Google Calendar, Outlook, Twitter and Evernote. If you are a major user of any of these applications, then Remember The Milk will be great help to you. The app is also available on Android, iOS and Blackberry. There are a whole list of third party apps which can be used with your Remember the milk account.
Very good app. Does one thing and does it well. Recommended.
