Elearning startup Sigrid Education has raised an undisclosed amount in an early stage funding from Oliphans Capital. This is Oliphans’s eighth investment in the startup space.
With the latest funding, the startup will focus on creating and introducing courses in 50 most prominent test-prep and K12 curriculum areas in the coming 6 months. Also, Sigrid platform is working at providing a one-on-one learning experience to the students and also helps them learn at their own pace. Founded in 2012 by Ajit Maheswari, Atul Kasaundhan and Aakash Aggarwal, Sigrid Education helps teachers to bring their courseware, testing material and insights online, and reach out to students across the country to benefit them (students).
Sigrid Education’s CEO and Co-founder, Ajit Maheswari said, “The way people consume information has changed drastically in the past few years and the change can be seen in the education sector as well. We feel Students are now looking for customized information and learning experience rather than a mass approach available at schools and colleges. Our platform aims to get the best out of students by providing them high quality content with the option to personalize the pace and time. ”
Sigrid Notes has been designed in such a way that it is compatible with any operating system and browsers. It has extremely low footprint – so it can be used on any device (Web or apps.) and on any bandwidth. Sigrid’s tests are adaptive in nature, thereby focusing testing attention on the areas the student needs more attention in.
Few of Sigird’s products includes iBall Edu-Slide tablet PC (e-learning content for class 1-12 for CBSE, ICSE and some state boards on Android OS), Edu-Slide eTeach content for Windows (e-learning content for class 1-12 for CBSE, ICSE and some state boards for Windows OS), iBall Edu-Slide for JEE (Main and Advanced) with pre-loaded content from Bansal Classes, Kota (made with Sigrid Notes: a content co-creation platform).
