Bangalore-based online bath fixtures and fittings startup, FYNE, has raised an undisclosed amount in Pre Series A round of funding led by a group of investors. Sandeep Dama of Lotus Partners also participated in this round of funding.
Founded in 2013 by Sunoop Balaraman, FYNE has evolved into a one-stop shop and solutions point for luxury bathroom fittings in India. Other than sale and delivery of products, the startup also provides home fitting and support service to deliver the last mile installation service for customers in selected cities.
Currently, it sells products from more than 100 brands including Cera, Jaquar, Hindware, Parryware, Hudor, Feca and Carysil. Besides bathroom segment, the company also offers products in the kitchen categories such as kitchen sinks and chimneys.
FYNE has a network of more than fifty distributors across India for sourcing and delivery. The firm is also in talks to become an exclusive partner for new brands from Europe and Asia entering India. The company expects to launch these brands through its website in the next couple of months.
The raised capital will be used to expand the product catalogue in the bathroom segment and into new categories and also sign up new brands.
The company will also be launching its new plumbing service in Bangalore by the end of October this year and the service will be available to customers at major metro cities in India by the start of 2016.
In coming couple of weeks, the company also plans to launch its app that will help customers to select products and custom design bathrooms.
Few other players who are operating in this segment include, Ahmedabad-based startup Hardware Bajaar, which deals with bathroom fittings, tools & electrical products. While another startup mSupply, based out of Bangalore, is an online marketplace for construction and interiors related products & materials.
