A mumbai-based artificial intelligence (AI) startup, Arya.ai, has raised $750 K Pre-Series A round from YourNest Angel Fund and VentureNursery members.
The startup will use the funds to accelerate product development and grow the AI eco-system. This is the third time VentureNursery members have participated in the funding process.
With this, Girish Shivani, Fund Manager at YourNest Angel Fund will join company’s board as a nominee of YourNest.
Arya.ai was founded in 2013 by two IIT Bombay researchers, Vinay Kumar Sankarapu and Deekshith Marla. The founders started the company with a mission to make intelligent machines assist humans in faster and effective decision-making process in their professions.
While most companies and developers want to use AI in their applications, but building an intelligent AI system involves solving many complex steps right from creating ‘Intelligence’ to managing the complex ‘Dev Ops’. This time-consuming and resource-intensive effort in building strong intelligence systems is solved by Arya.ai. It provides advanced AI tools offered as modules in ‘Language’, ‘Vision’, ‘Speech’ and ‘Reasoning’ for developers so that they can build AI computing systems by assembling the modules.
The company has been working with developers across verticals like travel, research, ecommerce, customer care, medicine and banking, with a plan to address other verticals like automobile, military and defence.
Shivani said, “We are excited about the opportunities Arya.ai is creating in the way humans interact with machines. A modular platform, with ready to integrate modules can accelerate adoption of AI in day to day life and bring immense value to the end user.”

The startup is also the first Indian startup to be selected as one of 21 companies globally that do standout innovations by Paris&Co, a French innovation agency.
