Entrepreneurship is a tough job! Encouragement and inspiration is one of the most needed aspect as the entrepreneurial life is all about moving out of the comfort zone for something bigger and braver. An entrepreneur needs the right support and the right platform to make it to far-reaching heights.
BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus intends to support young minds and budding entrepreneurs keeping in mind that “An idea is a great place to start. But the world needs people who can turn them into reality.” As one of India’s prestigious universities, BITS Goa announces ‘Coalescence 2014: Inspire, Ideate, Innovate’.
Coalescence 2014 aims to bridge the gap between brilliant ideas and their execution and operation. The event is presenting a wide range of categories and themes including workshops, mentorship, incubation and competitions. Scheduled to take place on 30th and 31st of August, Coalescence has already partnered with Seedfund (Bangalore, Delhi), CIBA (Goa), TLabs(Delhi), Mydeaventures (Delhi), Collabrant (Bangalore) ,Villgro (Chennai), etc.
The platform will provide an opportunity for scalable and equipped business plans to receive seed funding upto INR 4 Mn with cash prizes upto INR 2 Lakh.
Coalescence will anchor three sets of events:
ACT 2.0: The Conference
The conference that featured some illustrious faces who made it work in the entrepreneurial world like Shaheen Mistry of Teach for India and Raju Reddy of Sierra Atlantic in its previous version is all set to inspire young minds.
Novatia: the Business Plan competition
The competition where some of the brightest minds battle against each other, provides an opportunity to showcase their ideas, and gain mentorship and funding from investors and veteran entrepreneurs.
Workshops
Coalescence 14’ will host a set of featured workshops focused substantially on emerging and advanced fields like Finance os startups, Big data analysis, and SME and SEO.
Eligibility Criteria
At least one of the team members should be currently enrolled in a university program at the time of submission. An initial entry form must be filled followed by the executive summary with an optional video pitch.
The entrants qualifying for Round 2 will be notified via registered email to furnish required details.
Finalists selected will present their formalized business plans to a highly regarded set of judges at BITS Pilani Goa Campus, on 30th and 31st of August.
